Prague has so much to offer, that it is difficult to see all in a few days. That is why I did a second article of secret places that might not be on everyone’s must do list, but are definitely worth to visit if you have time! Here you will also find great panoramic spots that you can visit and avoid the tourist crowds.

This is a Part 2 article. Check out the first part of this article to know 10 must see spots in Prague:

Part 1: Prague: 10 MUST See Places

11. Vojanovy sady & Waldstein garden

For more amazing picnic spots head to Vojanovy sady park. It is very central, however still very peaceful and quiet as not many tourists know about it. It is completely free and you can see hundreds of peacocks just freely walking around. Waldstein garden is just nearby, located next to the Senate palace. Here you will also find a mystic Dripstone wall, with stones looking like faces.

12. Josefov

To learn more about the history of Prague, head to this Jewish Quarter, which was once used to be a ghetto. Here you can visit one of the few remaining Synagogues.

13. National Theatre

Make sure to visit one of the opera or ballet performances in the National Theatre of Prague. Not only the building is gorgeous, but they also have a great variety of spectacles and the tickets are very affordable. You can get tickets as low as 10€, which is a rare find in Europe.

14. Head of Franz Kafka

A moving head of Franz Kafka in the middle of the city. But you probably won’t spend more than 5 minutes here 🙂 If you are a fan of Kafka’s work you can also visit Kafka Museum, which has his first edition Kafka books, original letters, diaries and drawings.

15. Vyšehrad

An ancient castle grounds of Prague, with many sightseeings on its grounds. There is also a good panoramic viewpoint.

16. Zlatá ulička (Golden Lane)

It is located on the Prague Castle grounds and usually you have to pay a small fee to enter.

Here you can walk along tiny, colourful houses, where previously gold miners and alchemists lived.

Tip: After 17:00 the area is free to enter.

17. National Gallery Prague

Here you will find the largest collection of art in the Czech Republic, representing Chezh and international artists, like Klimt and Monet.

Great panoramic spots

In my first article I mentioned a great free panoramic spot at Lobkowicz Palace from above, however it may get quite crowded during the summer month. If you are looking for a quieter place, yet with great views on the orange roofs of Prague, you might like to explore Prague’s gardens.

Other panoramic spots

1. Vrtbovská zahrada (The Vrtba Garden)

A very beautiful Baroque garden, with many flowers and great statues. There are several viewpoints on different levels, so you get different views every time you go higher. The garden is open to tourists from the end of March 2020.

Price:

Adults: CZK 100 (4€)

Children / Students: CZK 80 (3€)

2. Ledenburská Zahrada

This garden is right next to the Lobkowicz Palace, with the same amazing views, but way less tourists.

Price:

Adults: CZK 80 (3€)

Children / Students: CZK 60 (2€)

3. Petrin Hill

This park is a bit further away, but from here you can see the entire town. Make sure to go here if you have more time to spare in Prague. Here you will also find Prague’s Eiffel Tower, which is another viewpoint which you can climb up for a small fee.

Price: Park – Free

Prague’s Eiffel Tower: Adult: CZK 60 (2€)

Children / Students / Seniors: CZK 40 (1.50€)

4. Letná Park

A big park, with very nice panoramic viewpoints, from where you can see the bridges and the river Vltava. Here is also a summer beer garden 🙂

5. Restaurant “U Prince”

From here you have great panoramic views on Prague. I would not recommend the food here as the price tag is too high, however you can enjoy a cup of tea/coffee here.
